Where would the $1,000 Death Star’s piece count rank among the biggest LEGO sets?

The rumoured $1,000 LEGO Star Wars UCS Death Star is said to include over 9,000 pieces – but where would that rank among the biggest LEGO sets of all time?

The latest info from the rumour mill suggests that 75419 Death Star – which is said to retail for $999.99 – will include a whopping 9,019 pieces. That easily outstrips the current biggest LEGO Star Wars set of all time (by piece count), 75192 Millennium Falcon, which includes ‘only’ 7,541 elements. But if that reported piece count is accurate, where would the Death Star sit among the wider LEGO portfolio?

For that we need only look at the current list of the 10 biggest LEGO sets of all time, which has actually remained unchanged since 71799 NINJAGO City Markets edged its way into the roster all the way back in June 2023. No LEGO set since has broken past the barrier of 6,020 pieces established by 71043 Hogwarts Castle in 2018 – and the top five positions are actually held by products released no later than 2022. Here’s the table as it stands right now…

The biggest LEGO sets of all time – March 2025

At 9,019 pieces, 75419 Death Star doesn’t even get a glimpse of the podium, instead claiming fifth place from its thematic companion. There’s something fitting about the largest LEGO Star Wars set of all time only displacing another LEGO Star Wars set in this list – but it does mean that, if these rumours are true, 40% of this ranking will be occupied by sets from a galaxy far, far away.

Still beating 75419 Death Star by piece count are 31203 World Map, 10307 Eiffel Tower, 10294 Titanic and (barely) 10276 Colosseum. But anyone angling for a complete collection of the largest LEGO sets of all time – we know you’re out there – may need to find another $1,000 come October, when this gargantuan space station is said to land on shelves with as many as 40 minifigures in the box.
