The best pairings for LEGO Minifigures Series 29

LEGO Minifigures Series 29 is coming soon with 12 new minifigures to scan and collect, many of which will pair perfectly with other sets and figures.

Whether you want the Bionicle Cosplayer, Mysterious Ronin, Monster Hunter and more, most of the minifigures in 71052 Series 29 will pair well with other entries in the LEGO portfolio. From matching minifigures to compatible creations, here's your guide to the best LEGO pairings for the next series of minifigures.

71052 Series 29 will be released on May 1, 2026, for £3.49 / $4.99 / €3.99. You can use Brick Search to find the minifigures you want using the app's minifigure scanner. Click here to find out more about Brick Search.

Monster Hunter and Steampunk Inventor

Series 29's Monster Hunter is not stated to be a Steampunk minifigure, but it's not hard to see the similarities between her and 71048 Series 27's Steampunk Inventor. Both have golden accessories, some kind of eye covering and a stylish outfit. The two will go perfectly together on display, at least until the LEGO Group finally makes a larger Steampunk world.

Soccer Goalkeeper and LEGO Editions Football Highlights

The new Soccer Goalkeeper minifigure is launching at the ideal time, near to when a suite of minifigure-compatible LEGO Editions dioramas are hitting shelves. These new dioramas look good on display and feature real footballers. Those without the knowledge of these specific people can now remove them and their decorations, swapping in the Soccer Goalkeeper minifigure accordingly.

Tuba Player and 11371 Shopping Street

The small marching band from 11371 Shopping Street now has an adult to lead them or otherwise support them. The Tuba Player has a different-coloured outfit from the minifigures in the latest modular building, but that could be because the marching band is split between adult and youth members.

Mysterious Ronin and NINJAGO sets

To celebrate NINJAGO's 15th anniversary, the Mysterious Ronin is leaping onto the scene in 71052 Series 29. You might recognise the identity of the masked character, and they will go perfectly with any display-centric NINJAGO set. Whether that's 71858 Four Weapons Blacksmith, 71861 The Old Town or 71866 Ninja Character Display, they will all go great with the Mysterious Ronin.

Unicorn Elf and Creator castles

These next two pairings are interchangeable as two fantasy-based characters form part of 71052 Series 29. The Unicorn Elf will arguably go best with either 31168 Medieval Horse Knight Castle or 31175 Unicorn Castle, leaning into the unicorn or the idea that the minifigure is a princess for the Horse Knights to protect.

Cute Witch and Dungeons & Dragons

The Cute Witch is a mix of fantasy and anime. The genres should mix nicely with 21348 Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon's Tale before it retires in July. The set already features multiple magic-using minifigures, and while this adorable witch will stand out, she'll fit in better with the cast of this set than anywhere else in the current portfolio.

Trash Monster and Recycling Truck

The best pairing for the Trash Monster in 71052 Series 29 is LEGO City's 60495 Recycling Truck. The City model may be for recycling only, but this creates an opportunity for a story of a minifigure who has mistakenly thrown out the wrong rubbish, which has come alive to take their revenge.

Marine Biologist and aquatic creations

Finding a match for Series 29's Marine Biologist is more challenging than the rest. There are plenty of marine models, but few at the same scale as the minifigure. Without this requirement, the likes of 31385 Sea Animals: Beautiful Dolphins and 10366 Tropical Aquarium are a thematic match. With the requirement, 60368 Arctic Explorer Ship features plenty for the Marine Biologist to discover and document.

The best possible matching LEGO product for the Chocolatier is the limited-edition BrickLink Designer Program The Art of Chocolate set. The minifigure will fit in well as part of the facility tour, but this rare set is now sold out, despite how well the two match.

Bionicle Cosplayer and anything Tahu

Rounding out our list, the Bionicle Cosplayer is the latest depiction of Tahu and will therefore go best with any other Tahu figure. Whether that's one of the original or reboot figures, the gift-with-purchase or LEGO Classic's anniversary Tahu, the 71052 Series 29 minifigure will be crucial for your Bionicle display.
