In today's educational learning, you can wow your friends with the impressive knowledge that on this day in 1878, Thomas Edison (famous for inventing the lightbulb) patented the phonograph, also known as the gramophone. Can you imagine if you could only ever listen to music live in person? It changed the world forever, and is something still used today, much like lightbulbs! Pretty cool, huh?
