The LEGO Group has launched its annual holiday ad, with Cataclaws leading the charge to remind kids where to find the fun this Christmas.
2025's LEGO holiday advert is now live as part of a wider festive campaign to bring families together throughout the season. The ad follows Cataclaws reminding 12-year-old Eddie about the magic of play, with the help of dozens of minifigures and LEGO characters. While Eddie prefers the solitude of his room over the joy of family fun, his younger sister has other plans.
She brings Cataclaws to life, as well as a mass of LEGO minifigures to quite literally drag Eddie back to his family and the fun of LEGO. Their adventure is set to a remix of Lionel Richie’s timeless classic, “Hello”, reimagining it as: “Is it play you’re looking for?”. The lyrics have also been LEGO-fied, with new additions like: “In my dreams you stepped on me a thousand times!”.
The Choir is a mixed ensemble of hundreds of minifigures representing virtually every LEGO theme, including Star Wars, Wicked, Ninjago, Friends and more. Characters like Darth Vader, Spider-Man, Hulk, Glinda, Elphaba, Batman, and even Hot Dog Guy.

Directed by award-winning director Steve Ayson and produced by Our LEGO Agency, the short film took five builders using over 97,000 LEGO bricks to build the main stage, which features a train station, smoke dragons, and disco helicopters. While an animation studio, beEpic, brought the ad to life, the basis was formed using physical sets, with over 220 individual LEGO minifigures and 27 vehicles included.
“This holiday season, we’re inviting families to dive into a world of imagination and fun!" said Nic Taylor, SVP and Head of our LEGO Agency. "Our LEGO Holiday Choir is here to remind everyone about celebrating the joy of play and the magic that happens when we come together. We hope families jump into the world of play, where laughter is the soundtrack and imagination knows no bounds, to create unforgettable experiences together.”

The LEGO Group's plans for Christmas

The LEGO Group has also confirmed that its Build to Give initiative will return in 2025, starting on Tuesday, November 11. The Build a Heart for Children in Need of Play campaign encourages builders to create a heart out of LEGO bricks and share it under the hashtag #BuildToGive.
For every heart shared, the LEGO Group will donate LEGO sets to children in need of play, including children in hospitals, children’s homes, and vulnerable communities around the world. The sets are distributed through the LEGO Group’s network of local charity partners. Since 2017, the campaign has reached more than 11.2 million children.
When it comes to festive products, the LEGO Group has announced new holiday-themed designs at the LEGO Minifigure Factory, available for a limited time only. Shoppers can personalise their own minifigures with exclusive holiday-themed torsos, both in-store or online. They don't appear to be live online at the time of writing, but keep an eye out in the coming weeks.
LEGO Insiders also have the chance to win their wishlist from now until November 23. By creating and submitting a personalised wish list, Insiders can enter for a chance to win up to £1,000 / $1,000 / €1,000 worth of LEGO sets of their choice.
