As we near the release of the next DC movie, Blue Beetle has received an extended trailer, properly showcasing the villain.
Scheduled for August 18, 2023, the latest Blue Beetle trailer is a mix of familiar and unfamiliar sequences, most notably offering a clearer look at Conrad Carapax.
At three minutes, this is the longest trailer for Blue Beetle so far. The character is confirmed to be the first character in James Gunn’s new DCU, as stated on the Inside of You podcast in June.
Blue Beetle is the cinematic debut of the character, whose connection to a piece of alien technology that resembles a scarab. It allows for the construction of weapons and other devices, as well as flight.
The DC movie is just over a month from release at the time of writing and based on James Gunn’s apparent plans to restart the DCEU into the DCU, it could be the best place for newcomers to start without needing to know what’s happened in previous movies. However, we know that other heroes will be referenced, including at least Batman.
