Every LEGO Star Wars May the 4th GWP set - 2026 update

Every LEGO Star Wars May the 4th GWP set - 2026 update

LEGO Star Wars' history of boxed May the 4th gifts-with-purchase is as diverse as it is vast, reaching nine limited-edition models next month.

The LEGO Group has been celebrating May the 4th with a special shopping event for many years, later starting a tradition of boxed gifts-with-purchase made specially for the event. These have varied in design and size, from minifigure-scale models to a series of side-built dioramas.

While we wait for May the 4th 2026 to start, which you can find out more about on our dedicated page, here's your guide to where these boxed gifts-with-purchase have been so far, and what's next. There have been many other May the 4th freebies, but these are just the boxed items.

2016 – 6176782 Escape the Space Slug

Though not widely available, the first boxed May the 4th gift-with-purchase is from 2016. 6176782 Escape the Space Slug was free with qualifying purchases at invitation-only VIP May the Fourth events in LEGO Stores in 2016. It depicts the scene where the Millennium Falcon narrowly escapes the titular creature, a moment not featured in any other LEGO Star Wars build.

2019 – 40333 Battle of Hoth - 20th Anniversary Edition

The collection then took a break until 2019, starting properly with the 20th anniversary of the theme in 2019. 40333 Battle of Hoth - 20th Anniversary Edition was available with LEGO Star Wars purchases of £75 / $75 / 75 or more in May 2019, recreating one of the most iconic battles in Star Wars history on Hoth. It comes with two small Snowspeeders, the shield generator, an AT-AT and a display base built on its side.

2020 – 40407 Death Star II Battle

This era of side-built displays would continue in 2020 with 40407 Death Star II Battle, also available with Star Wars purchases of £75 / $75 / 75 or more, but in May 2020. It's a similar concept to the 2019 build, depicting multiple vehicles in a Star Wars movie scene diorama. It stands out for being one of the few LEGO Star Wars sets depicting the Death Star II.

2021 – 40451 Tatooine Homestead

40451 Tatooine Homestead rounds out the May the 4th diorama range as 2021's May the 4th boxed GWP. It saw the threshold increase to £85 / $85 / €85 on Star Wars sets and features tiny versions of the homestead, a Sandcrawler, Luke's Landspeeder and some of the dunes in the background.

2022 – 40531 Lars Family Homestead Kitchen

One of the most memorable LEGO Star Wars May the 4th boxed gifts-with-purchase to date is 40531 Lars Family Homestead Kitchen from 2022, recreating a part of the Star Wars universe which we almost certainly won't see again. It comes with an exclusive minifigure and the most homely Star Wars build to date. It also saw the threshold required for it leap to £160 / $160 / €160.

2023 – 40591 Death Star II

One year forward, and the 289-piece 40591 Death Star II was the next boxed May the 4th gift-with-purchase. It was available with LEGO Star Wars purchases of £130 / $150 / €150 and has no minifigures, instead focusing on the iconic space station.

2024 – 40686 Trade Federation Troop Carrier

Also skipping minifigures, at least traditional ones, is 2024's 40686 Trade Federation Troop Carrier. This LEGO Star Wars set proved to be a good way to stock up on Battle Droid figures, or at least it would have been without the requirement to spend £145 / $160 / €160 on LEGO Star Wars sets at the start of May 2024.

2025 – 40765 Kamino Training Facility

2025's boxed LEGO Star Wars gift-with-purchase remains one of the best to date. 40765 Kamino Training Facility is a haven for exclusive minifigures, featuring three cadets who we will almost certainly never see in another set. The rest of the 190-piece model depicts various training equipment and our first KE-8 Enforcer. The threshold for this item was £145 / $160 / €160 on LEGO Star Wars only at the start of May 2025.

2026 – 40917 The Darksaber

The next LEGO Star Wars May the 4th boxed gift-with-purchase is also going to be available with themed orders of £145 / $160 / €160 or more during this year's May the 4th event. 40917 The Darksaber is the latest hilt collectable, the rest of which were not offered during a May the 4th event. This 278-piece model was praised in our recent review, and can be yours from May 1 to 6 while stocks last.
