Every brand new LEGO set launching in August 2024

Dozens of new LEGO sets are landing on shelves in August in the UK and Europe, and even more are coming to the US, so here’s a round-up of everything confirmed so far.

From LEGO Star Wars and Marvel to Technic and Icons, at least 19 different themes will see new launches in August in the UK, US or both. It’s one of the biggest shopping days of the year for LEGO fans, so figuring out what to buy right away – and what to save until a little bit later – can be a minefield.

We’ve taken at least some of the hard work out of the equation by whipping up a complete list of the more than 75 different LEGO sets currently scheduled to launch on August 1 in one or more regions, as well as shone a spotlight on a few of the most talked about LEGO sets here. Some of these are available to pre-order already (and orders above £180 / $200 / €200 will qualify for 40692 Candy Store through July 31), while you’ll have to wait for next Thursday for the rest.

LEGO Animal Crossing August 2024 sets

A mini-wave of two new LEGO Animal Crossing sets is launching worldwide on August 1, expanding the scope of the latest Nintendo theme just that little bit further. One heads to the airport in 77051 Fly with Dodo Airlines while the other strikes a chord in 77052 K.K.'s Concert at the Plaza.

LEGO Batman August 2024 sets

The four new LEGO Batman sets that launched earlier this summer in the UK and Europe will finally be available to buy in the US from August 1, including Batman: The Animated Series’ 76274 Batman with the Batmobile vs Harley Quinn and Mr. Freeze. (Rolls off the tongue, doesn’t it.)

LEGO City August 2024 sets

Nearly the entire LEGO City summer wave dropped in June for those of us in the UK and Europe, but North American fans will also be able to get stuck into the rest from August. There’s one set brand new to everybody too in 60423 Downtown Streetcar and Station.

LEGO Creator 3-in-1 August 2024 sets

Two LEGO Creator 3-in-1 sets are finally hitting shelves in the US in August, and they’re both very different propositions: one’s prehistoric, the other modern. But both are champion additions to a theme enjoying a very good year so far…

LEGO Disney August 2024 sets

There’s just one LEGO Disney set left from the summer range to debut in the US. 43251 Antonio’s Animal Sanctuary takes inspiration from Disney’s Encanto for a colourful and animal-packed 6+ model.

LEGO DREAMZzz August 2024 sets

The next wave of LEGO DREAMZzz sets is launching worldwide simultaneously on August 1, bringing with it a couple of very tempting flagship builds. Those include the striking 71485 Mateo and Z-Blob the Knight Battle Mech and the colourful, M.C. Escher-inspired 71486 Castle Nocturnia. 

LEGO Icons 2024 sets

Two new plants are blooming in the LEGO Botanical Collection next month. 10368 Chrysanthemum and 10369 Plum Blossom each arrive in their own brick-built pots, and each conjure up new and interesting ways to use LEGO pieces to recreate plants – the modus operandi of the Botanical Collection.

LEGO Ideas August 2024 sets

You’re going to need a bigger bank account with all these LEGO August 2024 sets, and that’s in no small part thanks to the debut of 21350 Jaws on August 3. This one’s launching in early access for LEGO Insiders for three days before going on sale more widely on August 6.

LEGO Jurassic World August 2024 sets

The North American market finally gets to enjoy the new LEGO Jurassic World sets the rest of us have been building and playing with since June, including 76965 Dinosaur Missions: Stegosaurus Discovery and 76966 Dinosaur Missions: Allosaurus Transport Truck.

LEGO Marvel August 2024 sets

The LEGO Group has held off until August worldwide with its latest wave of Marvel sets, most of which are inspired by a different moment in the Infinity Saga. Among the mix here are superhero sets based on Avengers Assemble, Age of Ultron, Guardians of the Galaxy, Thor: Ragnarok and more, along with the theme’s first midi-scale vehicle.

LEGO Minecraft August 2024 sets

LEGO Minecraft’s first 18+ set serves up another slice of microscale building, but this time with an additional layer of aesthetics to create something you’d be more than happy to pop on a display shelf.

LEGO Miscellaneous August 2024 sets

The LEGO Group has yet to come up with a collective theme for its two new sets anchored around building together, so let’s just call them ‘miscellaneous’ for now. 41838 Travel Moments and 41839 Message Board target a very particular demographic for the LEGO Group – and it’s one you might not be part of…

LEGO Monkie Kid August 2024 sets (US)

The four summer 2024 LEGO Monkie Kid sets will be available to buy in the US from August, having been on shelves in other regions since June. You’ll only be able to buy these directly from LEGO.com or LEGO Stores: they won’t be available through standard third-party retailers.

LEGO NINJAGO August 2024 sets (US)

Also finally arriving in the US in August are the rest of this summer’s LEGO NINJAGO sets, joining the previously-released 71814 Tournament Temple City and catching up with the UK and Europe releases. Highlights here include 71821 Cole’s Titan Dragon Mech and 71822 Source Dragon of Motion.

LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog August 2024 sets

A relatively small wave of LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog sets is racing on to shelves in August, revisiting a couple of characters we’ve seen before in this theme with Knuckles and Tails. These three are packed with deep cuts and Easter eggs from the franchise, though, so they’re still worth a look-in for veteran fans.

LEGO Speed Champions August 2024 sets

The LEGO Speed Champions theme is finally turning its attentions to previous six-stud-wide releases, revamping and updating them under the current eight-stud-wide format. First up are a pair of 2019 cars, one of which has an eye-catching new colour scheme... (Hint: it's not the Ferrari.)

LEGO Star Wars August 2024 sets

LEGO Star Wars is delivering a bumper wave of sets in August, ranging from a buildable C-3PO and a spoiler-filled Ahsoka model to three fresh takes on classic ships thanks to Rebuild the Galaxy. Joining those is the long-awaited release of 75394 Imperial Star Destroyer, which was revealed all the way back in May. There are three new 25th anniversary minifigures among this bunch, too.

LEGO Super Mario August 2024 sets

The LEGO Group’s soft reboot of the LEGO Super Mario line sees the three original starter courses updated and replaced by a trio of fresh packs for Mario, Luigi and Peach. They’re joined by five expansion sets that take in plenty of highlights from the world of Super Mario.

LEGO Technic August 2024 sets

August is a very good time to be a LEGO Technic gearhead: eight new sets are launching worldwide covering everything from cars and a yacht to an excavator and a lunar rover. It might look a little car-heavy at first glance, but this is actually a pretty varied wave.
