Fortnite lays path for future LEGO Ideas minifigures

A LEGO Ideas Power Rangers set is confirmed to be on the way, and Fortnite just laid the perfect path for some hopeful minifigures.

The latest update to Fortnite added LEGO Styles for the various Power Rangers outfits already in-game, as well as some for the two new outfits based on the Dino Thunder series. There are even some LEGO Power Rangers accessories visible in the emotes.

As cool as it is to see official LEGO Power Rangers minifigure designs, many of Fortnite's licenses with LEGO Styles don't result in physical minifigures. That may not be the case with Power Rangers, though.

The first 2025 review approved five LEGO Ideas sets for production in October 2025, including TrumanBricks' LEGO Megazord. That project pitched minifigures of Zack the Black Ranger, Kimberly the Pink Ranger, Billy the Blue Ranger, Trini the Yellow Ranger and Jason the Red Ranger. These characters all have digital LEGO Styles.

While we don't know whether or not the official LEGO Ideas Power Rangers set will include minifigures as proposed, the LEGO Fortnite team have laid the groundwork for them in this update. The initial proposal had the outfits' masks printed on standard minifigure heads, but the Fortnite designs use a new element that is more effectively shaped. They would also allow the characters to be unmasked without removing those heads from the torso and adding another one.

It's a great tactic, and the piece would arguably be generic enough to apply to other characters and licenses, but right now it only exists digitally in Fortnite. It's worth noting that Fortnite's LEGO Styles that have been realised as physical minifigures are usually much less detailed in terms of printing and dual-moulding. At least there's now a path laid for the LEGO Power Rangers minifigures that are hopefully coming to Ideas in the future.

A LEGO Power Rangers set is on the way, likely depicting the Megazord, but a release date for that set is not currently known. Click here for our latest guide to every LEGO Ideas set currently in production.
