A UK game show contestant's answer has made waves in the online LEGO community, hitting almost too close to home for many.
Popular UK game show The Chase has been a brief subject of discussion in the online LEGO community this week for the 150th episode of the 17th series. A clip shared on Reddit, and reposted to the LEGO subreddit by Known-Ad-1556 features one of the episode's four contestants sharing what she would do with her share of the prize money. Other users in the comments are sharing what they would be hoping to pick up with the prize money instead, including lots of smaller sets and other massive models like
The community online has also been focused on the contestant, educating the host that you buy a full build kit, rather than just the individual pieces to make such a set. She states that she couldn't possibly build a LEGO model without the instructions, which many online are finding hits almost too close to home.
"This is me, and this is why I have such respect for people who build MOCs," comments BrickYoda.
"I've always wanted to get into free building and learning advanced techniques," adds GreatGreenGobbo. "I figured I can do that once my kids are done with their LEGO and I can have free rein."
Boersc even compares the contestant to Emmet from The LEGO Movie, who had a similar affinity for instructions before expanding his worldview. According to The Chase wiki, the team of contestants unfortunately didn't win the episode, but at least it's good for LEGO fans to know that we aren't alone in our love of big sets and following instructions.
