LEGO is touting '65 stickers' as a selling point of its new Arkham Asylum

The press release for LEGO Batman 76300 Arkham Asylum touts its ’65 stickers’ as a selling point, and you know what – in this case, fair enough.

Between those who favour the versatility of unprinted parts for custom builds and those who loathe lining up decals, the great LEGO sticker debate will never truly be settled. But one thing’s for sure: you’re never going to see 65 new one-off printed pieces in a licensed LEGO set, and 76300 Arkham Asylum (revealed today at San Diego Comic-Con) would be all the plainer and duller without them.

That’s where the DC set’s extensive sticker sheet comes into play, and it’s a feature the LEGO Group is talking up in the press release, which says 76300 Arkham Asylum 'includes authentic details and interactive features: opening prison cells, an inmate delivery van, and 65 stickers referencing Batman lore'. It’s pretty unusual to see the number of stickers touted loud and proud as part of a set’s reveal, but a quick glance through the official images explains all.

As the press release alludes to, these stickers are where you’ll find most of the Easter eggs and references to Batman lore in 76300 Arkham Asylum. For instance, the computer screen in the reception features a Clayface minifigure – still elusive in the LEGO DC theme and frustratingly absent here – while the noticeboard nods to a stand-up comedy night hosted by the Joker.

The doctor’s office features two Harley Quinn-themed stickers for each of her personas, an ‘employee of the month’ tile for Dr. Harleen Quinzel (another absent minifigure, strictly speaking) and a most wanted poster for her villainous alter ego. Other stickers visible in official images include ‘vote for Harvey Dent’ and ‘visit Metropolis’ posters, and the numbers 7785 atop the van, calling back to the set number for the original LEGO Arkham Asylum set from 2006.

As with other LEGO superhero modular buildings such as 76178 Daily Bugle and 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion, the sticker sheet may look daunting when it spills out of the box for 76300 Arkham Asylum, but it’s also where you’ll find a lot of the details that bring the building to life. That doesn’t necessarily stop some of these stickers from proving frustrating to apply, mind: the individual letters over the gate look particularly painful to align…

No matter which side of the sticker debate you come down on, it’s difficult to say they’re not essential to the all-round experience on offer with 76300 Arkham Asylum. And it’s still fewer stickers than you’ll find in the worst offenders from LEGO Speed Champions, such as last year’s 76922 BMW M4 GT3 & BMW M Hybrid V8, which includes a whopping 71 decals across just 676 pieces.

76300 Arkham Asylum includes 2,953 pieces, 16 minifigures and 65 stickers, and is available to pre-order from today ahead of its September 9 launch. Head here to check out everything revealed at SDCC 2025.
