LEGO Marvel 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion officially revealed

Wolverine, Cyclops, Magneto and the gang are back on shelves this November in the biggest LEGO X-Men set yet, 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion.

The fourth entry in the now long-running series of modular Marvel buildings – following 76178 Daily Bugle, 76218 Sanctum Sanctorum and 76269 Avengers Tower – this 3,093-piece set recreates Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters as seen in the X-Men ’97 TV series. It’s the biggest LEGO X-Men set to date and follows relatively close behind January’s 76281 X-Men X-Jet.

All four characters from that model are repeated here but not necessarily as you saw them in January: Cyclops gets printed legs, while Magneto is wearing a more traditional outfit. Also among the line-up are Wolverine, Rogue, Jean Grey, Professor Xavier, Storm, Gambit, Bishop and Iceman, with the latter four making their LEGO minifigure debuts in this set.

The two-storey mansion sits across a 48x32-stud footprint, matching that of last year’s 10326 Natural History Museum, and packs in Cerebro, Wolverine’s bedroom, a medical lab, a classroom, the library, the lobby and the Danger Room training facility, which can be reconfigured by removing and replacing walls. There are a couple of other functions in the mix too, including a sliding whiteboard and a destructible roof.

76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion launches November 1 for LEGO Insiders for £289.99 / $329.99 / €329.99, before going on wider sale at LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores on November 4. From November 1 to 7 (or while stocks last), all purchases of the new LEGO X-Men set will include 5009015 Cerebro, a brick-built model of Professor Xavier using his mutant-detecting device.
