Keeping it different

77245 Aston Martin Aramco F1 AMR24 gets off to a flying start, with creative parts usage that results in the most engaging build of the wave. Looking at the model from above, you can see the tiered placement of tiles and sloped plates that create a tight but smooth bodywork that's not only fun to build but creates a sturdy final car.
There's also more variety in the parts used that help to keep things fresh, from grills on the underside of the car to a sword being used in place of the ski that other LEGO Speed Champions Formula 1 cars have on the upper air intake. The differences are slight but noticeable, giving 77245 Aston Martin Aramco F1 AMR24 a more tapered silhouette when you look at it from above or behind.
That contrasts with the somewhat clunky element used at the back for the DRS, at odds with the focus on sleek edges present throughout the rest of the car.
Where's the teal?

There's unfortunately a green elephant in the room that needs to be discussed. 77245 Aston Martin Aramco F1 AMR24 is not quite the same colour as 77247 KICK Sauber F1 Team C44 but it might as well be. The real-life Aston has a very specific shade of teal, something that has not yet been rendered satisfactorily in a LEGO set.
Considering this is the LEGO Speed Champions Formula 1 wave, released in Speed Champions' 10th anniversary year and Formula 1's 75th anniversary, if there was ever a time to update the colour, it would be now.
The effect is driven home by even the racing driver's visor being all green, which gives more alien than racing driver. While the green on the bodywork is offset with black and it does look good, it's just nowhere close when you look at it side by side with pictures of the actual Formula 1 car.
It's just not Aston Martin

This is the crux of the issue with 77245 Aston Martin Aramco F1 AMR24. It's an impressive build and the green doesn't look half bad. It's just not Aston Martin.
For such a prestigious car brand and a growing force in Formula 1's middle pack, 77245 Aston Martin Aramco F1 AMR24 lacks a sense of identity. The fact that we kept picking up 77247 KICK Sauber F1 Team C44 instead of 77245 Aston Martin Aramco F1 AMR24 highlights how it's lacking a defining feature. LEGO sets are about the build, for sure, but if the only memorable element of a set is the build process, something has gone wrong.
A small Aston Martin sticker on the flank of the car does not a brand make. While the other cars all feel uniquely their own, 77245 Aston Martin Aramco F1 AMR24 feels like an uninspired addition to round out the wave, without much to distinguish it from the rest.
Honest opinion: A respectable Formula 1 car – but nothing to distinguish it as being based on Aston Martin.
