The LEGO Botanical Collection is about to experience double trouble

The LEGO Botanical Collection is rounding out 2023 with a dose of double trouble thanks to an official and unofficial entry.

One of the last LEGO Botanical Collection sets for 2023 has been officially revealed as 10329 Tiny Plants with a multitude of miniature models to display together or separately. It includes the most realistic interpretation of a species of plant yet – the Venus flytrap. While there have been few models depicting this specific species of flora, the carnivorous nature of the plant has inspired various portrayals in everything from LEGO City to Scooby-Doo.

When 10329 Tiny Plants launches on December 1, 2023, for £44.99 / $44.99 / €44.99, it will be preceded nearly one month prior by 71426 Piranha Plant, a downscaled version of the iconic Super Mario enemy that just so happens to be the ideal size to display with LEGO Botanical Collection sets.

As suggested in the name, 71426 Piranha Plant is much larger than 10329 Tiny Plants' Venus flytrap but the two are so closely related that they're sure to make an interesting display together, contrasting the realistic model against the outlandish Super Mario creation.

The release of these models so close to one another is likely one a coincidence, but it's no less interesting to see the LEGO Botanical Collection grow both officially and unofficially with a pair of carnivorous creations less than a month apart.

LEGO Icons 10329 Tiny Plants launches on December 1, 2023, for £44.99 / $44.99 / €44.99 and 71426 Piranha Plant will be available from November 6 for £57.99 / $59.99 / €64.99.
