Every LEGO Harry Potter set retiring in 2024 and beyond – July update

The LEGO Group has pulled forward the retirement of nine LEGO Harry Potter sets, including three sections of the brand new modular Hogwarts Castle.

It’s all change for the Wizarding World on this month’s update to the master list of retiring LEGO sets, as nine sets originally slated to exit production in 2026 will now leave shelves in 2025. Those include 76426 Hogwarts Castle Boathouse, 76430 Hogwarts Castle Owlery and 76431 Hogwarts Castle: Potions Class – all new sets released this year as part of the theme’s ‘most detailed Hogwarts ever’.

That will leave only 76435 Hogwarts Castle: The Great Hall on shelves in 2026 from the current crop of wizarding school sets. It looks like the LEGO Group could therefore be planning to cycle through the sections of this version of Hogwarts at a faster rate than previous iterations (for comparison, 2020’s 75969 Hogwarts Astronomy Tower is only just retiring this month).

Other sets now heading for early retirement in 2025 include 76424 Flying Ford Anglia, 76425 Hedwig at 4 Privet Drive, 76427 Buckbeak, 76428 Hagrid's Hut: An Unexpected Visit, 76439 Ollivanders & Madam Malkin's Robes and 76440 Triwizard Tournament: The Arrival – or the majority of the Wizarding World theme’s 2024 releases.

At the other end of the spectrum, 76421 Dobby the House-Elf – initially due to retire in 2025 – is now the only one of the current LEGO Harry Potter sets destined to stay in production all the way through 2027. So you’ve got plenty of time to grab that one, but much less time to pick up the Astronomy Tower and 76388 Hogsmeade Village Visit, both of which are surely on their final production runs now.

They are still both in stock at LEGO.com at the time of writing at least – and 75969 Hogwarts Astronomy Tower is 30% off in the UK and Europe…
