Another preview for LEGO Horizon Adventures has confirmed the extent of Easter eggs in the game, including theme-based biomes in levels.
Previews for LEGO Horizon Adventures have been abundant recently with a demo now available to play at EGX / MCM this weekend in London complete with a free set to take home. We learned a lot from the last round of previews but another early look has just surfaced, confirming one especially exciting detail for LEGO enthusiasts specifically.
Bricks by Mind had the chance to play the new LEGO game early and reports in their video coverage that LEGO Horizon Adventures will feature biomes associated with a different LEGO original IP, located within levels. Biomes in the context of the Horizon series refer to different areas of the map and assuming that the developers are using the same lexicon, this may mean that levels in LEGO Horizon Adventures will include areas based on original LEGO themes.
This is an exciting revelation for LEGO enthusiasts eager to play the new game, especially for those not quite as interested in the Horizon part of LEGO Horizon Adventures. A NINJAGO biome is confirmed by the YouTuber in the video and they posit that the likes of Friends and City may be featured as biomes too. NINJAGO and City both have outfit tabs in the game so they seem more likely.
A post-apocalyptic version of Heartlake City would be an interesting twist on LEGO Friends too and other original LEGO intellectual properties include DREAMZzz and retired themes such as Hidden Side and Nexo Knights. Stretching the definition of IP though, the likes of Classic Space and Castle would be fun to explore as biomes.
We also know from the video that you'll be able to rescue original minifigures not from the Horizon series, which is another source for LEGO-specific references in the game. Add to that the NINJAGO building customisation noted for the village hub and there's a lot for enthusiasts to look forward to in this game, even without prior knowledge or appreciate for the Horizon series.
