There are all kinds of fascinating science-based secrets hidden within the upcoming LEGO Ideas 21355 The Evolution of STEM.
The LEGO Group revealed 21355 The Evolution of STEM last week, an upcoming 879-piece model based on danielbradleyy’s winning ‘Knowledge is Power’ design. The LEGO Ideas set arrives on March 1, 2025 and should prove to be a very unique and educational build indeed.
In addition to a rotating DNA strand, floating carbon atom, NASA Voyager and three exclusive minifigures, 21355 The Evolution of STEM is also packed with a selection of sneaky secrets.

A recent LEGO Ideas blog has already revealed a few of those, including a nod to fan designer Daniel Bradley. In addition, YouTuber TJ bricky has taken a deeper dive into the set, discovering even more hidden science secrets contained within the model.
For starters, one side of 21355 The Evolution of STEM’s book build features a colourful row of 1x1 tiles. According to the set’s instruction manual, ‘This representation of the optical light spectrum shows colours ranging from ultraviolet to infrared, although the human eye can only see a portion of this.’
Moving to the opposite side of the LEGO Ideas book reveals another hidden message, this time using a selection of small elements to spell out ‘STEM’ in Morse Code, a reference to its creator, Samuel Morse.
A stickered tile representing a blackboard is placed on a small desk within the set and contains a selection of mathematical formulae. Those include ‘F=ma’, referring to Sir Isaac Newton’s second law of motion, and a diagram of the Golden ratio (derived from the famous Fibonacci sequence), which represents ‘the most beautiful number in the universe.’

Also to be found on the blackboard sticker are the mysterious numbers, ’29.2’. Those are a reference to February 29, the leap year date that LEGO Ideas fans designer Daniel Bradley met his partner.

Finally, Jay’s Brick Blog has also taken a detailed look at 21355 The Evolution of STEM, noting a unique element held by the ‘mother of modern physics’, Marie Curie. As befits Curie’s Nobel prize-winning discovery of the radioactive radium-226 isotope, the tile she holds glows in the dark and features the correct atomic number of 88.
21355 The Evolution of STEM will be launching on March 1, 2025, priced at £69.99 / $79.99 / €79.99. You can find out what we thought about the upcoming LEGO Ideas set in our in-depth review right here.
