The LEGO Ideas Snoopy set has a great new element

The LEGO Ideas Snoopy set introduces a brand-new element as well as several recolours, which are sure to be useful across the portfolio.

While Snoopy is the star of 21368 Peanuts: Snoopy's Doghouse, take a closer look at Woodstock to spot a new piece that is practically bursting with potential. The latest LEGO Ideas set to be revealed is launching on June 1 for £69.99 / $89.99 / €79.99, expanding the scope of the original submission to combine multiple of the fan designer's proposals into the perfect Snoopy set.

Woodstock and the grass at the base of the build uses a new tuft-style element, featuring three strands coming off a wider base that wraps around a stud connection. Whether this piece also has a short bar connection inside is unknown.

A standard stud connection would still be useful and make this piece applicable across a variety of themes. So far, we've seen it used for feathers and grass, but it would also look good in a few other sets. This includes the fries in 60488 Fries Food Truck, which currently uses the crystal element, and tufts of fur in 31163 Playful Cat.

Uses in LEGO Botanicals may be limited due to the inherently cartoon-ish nature of this piece, but it will be interesting to see whether the designers can find a way to make the best possible use of the new part.

21368 Peanuts: Snoopy's Doghouse also has a few new recolours, specifically concerning minifigure headwear. Woodstock's head uses a printed yellow version of the domed element seen in the Mr. Freeze minifigure in 76300 Arkham Asylum. Snoopy's nose is an opaque black version of the rounded helmet piece featured in 21360 Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. There's also a yellow fork for the LEGO cutlery collectors out there.

While the printed element is unlikely to arrive on Pick a Brick, we can only hope that the other recolours, as well as the tuft piece, arrive on the service a few months after 21368 Peanuts: Snoopy's Doghouse launches this June.
