LEGO Minifigures Series 28 Animals officially revealed

The LEGO Group has officially unveiled 71051 Series 28 Animals, the latest batch of blind-boxed LEGO Minifigures coming in January 2026.

Once again hooked to a specific theme (like Series 26 Space before it), 71051 Series 28 Animals serves up a dozen brand new costumed characters, ranging from a cute bunny rabbit to a slightly more terrifying goldfish. These will retail for £3.49 / $4.99 / €3.99 apiece when they debut on January 1, holding firm to the price tag of recent years as one of the last inflation-resistant LEGO themes on shelves.

Check out the complete list of Series 28 minifigures below…

  • Monkey costume
  • Lion costume
  • Peacock costume
  • Goldfish costume
  • Bunny costume
  • Cat costume
  • Dalmatian costume
  • Dolphin costume
  • Koala costume
  • Frog costume
  • Parrot costume
  • Crocodile costume

While we’ve seen costumed characters for cats and rabbits before, these are all brand new minifigures, and indeed most of them are based on animals that have never been represented in the LEGO Minifigures series before. And though most of the budget has clearly been poured into their new moulded head pieces, there are a few interesting accessories in the mix, including the Crocodile’s life preserver and the Frog's bubble blower.

71051 Series 28 Animals will continue the same cardboard box packaging of recent Collectible Minifigures series, suggesting we’ll once again be able to scan the data matrix code on the bottom using Brick Search to identify the character inside. That’s handy if you don’t want to end up with an army of terrifying anthropomorphic goldfish.

As always, please reach out to the Brick Search team on andrew@tiromedia.co.uk if you spot 71051 Series 28 Animals in the wild early – you can help get the codes for each character into the app ahead of their launch on January 1, ready for other LEGO fans to scan for their own minifigures.
