We're shining the spotlight on LEGO Minifigure Series 29's cutest character in our latest feature, highlighting every detail in the Cute Witch.
One of the most intricate and adorable minifigures in 71052 Series 29 is the appropriately-named Cute Witch. The new character depicts a witch in a much more whimsical style than you might be used to. There's no green skin, black robes and broom here. Instead, the Cute Witch opts for a colourful wardrobe, blue hair, a big bow and a pink wand.

By subverting expectations, 71052 Series 29's Cute Witch successfully stands out from the crowd of new minifigures, and it doesn't hurt to be cute at the same time. One of the best details in the new Cute Witch minifigure includes the cat-shaped boots. They align with the trend of witches partnering with cats, as well as anime series and movies that include cats, such as Kiki's Delivery Service and Sailor Moon.
The anime references continue in this minifigure, including the oversized bow with a gem in the middle, which is also something that appears in Sailor Moon. Brightly coloured hair can also be found throughout anime, and increases the charm of this cute new minifigure.
The sparkles on the skirt top off these fine details, making up a standout minifigure in 71052 Series 29. Opting to include a wand instead of a broom for this witch may be another reference to Sailor Moon, since several of that series' characters use similarly colourful wands. It's clear to see that the new Cute Witch minifigure takes heavy inspiration from anime designs.
The other accessory included with 71052 Series 29's Cute Witch is a sitting cat with standard minifigure eyes. It's the first time that a LEGO cat with this style of eyes has been depicted sitting down.
LEGO cats have been featured in several sets over the years and have come in all shapes and sizes. This is just the latest LEGO feline to add to the list.
This new minifigure will be released as part of 71052 Series 29 on May 1. Click below to read our spotlights on the rest of the series' minifigures, so far, and stay tuned for the rest.
