LEGO Pokémon Smart Play Pikachu House rumoured for 2026

The first details on a rumoured new LEGO Pokémon set arriving in summer 2026 have surfaced, suggesting the theme will be at least partly hooked to the LEGO Group’s new smart brick.

Instagram user lego_minecraft_goat reports in a new Story that Smart Play: Pikachu’s House will debut next summer for $69.99. While there’s no particular set number attached to that model just yet, the name alone indicates the new LEGO smart brick – initial details of which were revealed last year – may be in play.

The Smart Play ecosystem allows LEGO sets and minifigures to offer enhanced interactive features, such as sounds and lights via scannable tiles. It’s essentially an enhanced version of the tech in LEGO Super Mario builds. The LEGO Group previously stated that the smart brick ‘responds directly to everything you do’, based on the way it’s held and moved, and even the way sets are built and rebuilt.

The video also notes that Smart Play will connect to LEGO apps and games, even beyond a simple controller app, with interactive tiles able to respond to what players do with the smart brick. And it wouldn’t be especially surprising to see this new initiative intertwined with a Nintendo-associated theme given the direction the LEGO Group has taken with Super Mario since 2020.

It’s worth noting that several other rumoured LEGO Pokémon 2026 sets make no mention of Smart Play in their product names at the moment, so this theme will likely go in multiple different directions rather than putting all its eggs in the smart brick basket. But with no confirmation from the LEGO Group at the time of writing, best to take all rumoured details with the usual grain of salt.
