LEGO Project Hail Mary set on back order after box office hit

The LEGO Group's Project Hail Mary model may have seemed like an odd release, but it's proven to be a hit after the film's box office success.

Whatever your thoughts on 11389 Project Hail Mary before or after its release earlier this year, the movie model is now either on a hefty back order or temporarily out of stock on the official online store. The 830-piece set is the only official LEGO set based on the recent film, though that hasn't stopped the community from making unofficial tie-in builds.

At the time of writing, 11389 Project Hail Mary is on back order until April 29 in the UK, temporarily out of stock in the US, and available now in Europe. While we don't know the original stock levels for every region, this is evidence that the LEGO Project Hail Mary model has been a hit with fans around the world.

Our recent review praised the model, noting how it exceeded our expectations. The movie on which the set is based became the highest-grossing Amazon MGM Studios release, now at $219.1 million after just over two weeks in cinemas.

While more Project Hail Mary models are unlikely, it's nothing but good news for the LEGO Group that the one-off movie model has been so popular. Ordering the set for yourself on the official online store may prove challenging in some regions, but 11389 Project Hail Mary is available sooner on Amazon UK.
