LEGO Star Wars 75447 The Razor Crest review

Is there enough in the box to make 75447 The Razor Crest the must-have LEGO Star Wars set of a Mandalorian and Grogu summer?

Releasing late April with 930 pieces and five characters, 75447 The Razor Crest is the return (not that they ever went away) of The Mandalorian and Grogu in fine LEGO Star Wars form, and in a ship we swear was blown up in Season 2 of The Mandalorian… but is it too expensive?

Without trying to second-guess why the Razor Crest is back (note: it’s because it’s a popular toy), it does offer LEGO Star Wars an excellent opportunity to update the original playset-scale version of this ship – 75292 The Razor Crest – that released in late 2020 to much fanfare. On purely the LEGO side, 75447 The Razor Crest does exactly that, even if in typical 2026 LEGO Star Wars style, it comes with a slight downsizing of the entire craft.

In this case, at least, it doesn’t detract from either the build experience or the design and playability of the final model, for the most part. 2026’s Razor Crest loses the built-in mini living quarters underneath the cockpit (it’s now a representation of the inner engine or something like that), the detachable unit from the exterior roof, and it is a little slimmer and shorter than what we had five and a half years ago with 75292 The Razor Crest.

That being said, 75447 The Razor Crest is otherwise an upgrade in design, parts usage and even stickers. The shaping of the vehicle has been smoothed out to better reflect the ship seen on screens, with particular quality to be found in the cockpit area and the two large turbine engines.

The sides and back of the body of the Razor Crest fold down for some decent space inside for the included minifigures, even if we lose more studs than before due to imposing Technic pins holding the central column of the ship together – it’s a fair compromise for how solid and smart that build technique is.

The included minifigures give us a brand new Zeb Orrelios in New Republic pilot gear, plus a new character in Sigourney Weaver’s Colonel Ward. Mando has updated prints on his arms and legs, but is otherwise the same as before. Grogu is the main star of the show with a new mould for his body that is far better reflective of the little guy’s stance when walking along the ground. Not every big Star Wars character gets a redesign as fast as Grogu has (just ask R2-D2), but it’s a very welcome one and contributes to a character line-up that really does elevate the quality and play opportunities with 75447 The Razor Crest.

The 930 pieces and five characters make 75447 The Razor Crest an excellent build and worthy of the popular ship’s surprise return to Star Wars, but unfortunately, not worthy of the price of £139.99 / $149.99 / €149.99. It is just too high and is £/$/€20 more than the Razor Crest from 2020, and almost 100 pieces fewer. Money has never bought a lot within the LEGO Star Wars theme, but it really does feel like it goes far less distance in 2026 than ever before.
