Manchester Arndale’s LEGO Store is getting an upgrade

The LEGO Store at Manchester Arndale is moving to much bigger premises, but you won’t need to go far to find its new location.

The second LEGO Store to open in the north of England all the way back in 2012, the Manchester Arndale outlet has occupied the same unit in the shopping centre for 13 years – but is now moving to a larger space that’s more than double the size of its current location.

Regular visitors won’t need to go too far out of their way, though, because the new unit is… next door. Previously occupied by cosmetics store Morphe, the new location spans 7,434 square feet, or more than double the current LEGO Store’s 2,934 square feet. The new store will feature all the usual hallmarks of a LEGO retail experience, including the Pick a Brick wall and Build a Minifigure tower.

“We are delighted to share that we are relocating our LEGO Store Arndale,” said Shweta Munshi, vice president of marketing, LEGO Retail at the LEGO Group. "We are continually investing in our store portfolio and this new store will be a top retail destination for product launches and events, while acting as a hub for our LEGO community and new builders alike.”

“It is great to see the LEGO Group commit its long-term future to Manchester Arndale with a new larger store,” added Steve Gray, head of European retail asset management at Global Mutual and joint asset managers of Manchester Arndale. "The LEGO Store is one of our most popular retailers and we expect their enhanced space will attract even more shoppers.”

The LEGO Group has yet to confirm an opening date for the new store, but the move is slated to happen ‘this summer’, and in-store events will apparently be announced soon.
