Master Builder needed for LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Birmingham

The LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Birmingham, opening later this year, is seeking a Master Model Builder to work at the attraction. Every LEGOLAND Discovery Centre (LLDC) recruits a local Master Model Builder, who has to be an expert LEGO builder and also great with children. It is a dream job for many fans of the brick, offering the chance to get paid to be creative all day. Alex Bidolak has held the position at the Manchester attraction since it opened – the Birmingham venue will be the UK's second Discovery Centre.

The much-coveted position, which is being billed as the nation’s dream job, is likely to be filled by a creative dreamer, practical builder, someone with a passion for the LEGO brick and ultimately, be able to see the world through the eyes of a child.

The children themselves have had their say on the credentials required from their perfect candidate, specifying an imagination as big as the world, rosy cheeks and a nice smile all essential qualities. Grumpy faced adults need not apply.

Bertie, the attraction’s life-sized LEGO man, has already been sizing up commuters passing through New Street Station and out on the streets of the City Centre looking to ditch the day job for the once in a lifetime role.

Amy Langham, General Manager for LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Birmingham said: “There really are only a select handful of people across the globe fortunate enough to hold the coveted title of Master Model Builder and we’re eager to crown one of our very own for the City.”

She added: “We’ve listened to what the children want too and will make sure we find someone fit for the job that meets all their criteria, after all, it’s their attraction!”
