Multiple LEGO Ideas 21331 Sonic the Hedgehog sets can be combined

A fresh image for the newly revealed LEGO Ideas 21331 Sonic the Hedgehog – Green Hill Zone has shown how multiple copies can be combined.

Those who want to create an authentic brick-built version of Green Hill Zone with the upcoming LEGO Ideas Sonic the Hedgehog model can do so as one of the provided images have detailed what the protruding Technic pins are for.

One of the lifestyle pictures for LEGO Ideas 21331 Sonic the Hedgehog – Green Hill Zone includes not one, but two copies of the creation as an example of how multiple copies can be combined to create a longer course for Sonic to speed through.

Another image also reveals that the entire assembly is held together in sections using Technic axles, offering similar play value to the LEGO Super Mario course system in that the areas can be mixed and matched, even with multiple of the same build.

Whether this means that future expansions to the initial LEGO Ideas Sonic the Hedgehog set, similar to what happened with LEGO Minecraft originally, are plausible is unknown, but you're welcome to recreate your favourite courses from throughout the franchise using whatever bricks you have at home.

However, in the meantime, we can look forward to the launch of 21331 Sonic the Hedgehog – Green Hill Zone from January 1, 2022.
