The official announcement of the next LEGO video game is ‘right around the corner’, according to a reliable industry source.
While LEGO Fortnite has been demanding the attentions of LEGO gamers since the new mode dropped in December, the last standalone LEGO video game actually arrived all the way back in May 2023 with LEGO 2K Drive. Industry source Kurakasis now reports that the reveal of 2K Games’ next LEGO venture, LEGO 2K Goooal!, is ‘right around the corner’.
Word of a LEGO football title from 2K Games has been doing the rounds for well over a year, and a South Korean ratings board revealed that it would be called ‘LEGO 2K Goooal!’ in June. But the studio has kept schtum on the game so far, with most of the corresponding details so far – such as the platforms you’ll be able to play it on and a possible tie-in polybag – coming from third-party sources.

An Amazon listing originally pointed to a September 2023 release date for the game, but Kurakasis – known throughout the gaming community as a reliable source of news and rumours – now claims LEGO 2K Goooal! will arrive around the same time as EURO 2024, which kicks off on June 14 in Germany. Whether it will have any kind of official tie-in to this summer’s tournament isn’t clear, but it could just be shrewd timing on 2K Games’ part.
A video ad for the LEGO Group’s Play Unstoppable campaign in 2023 included a glimpse at a football game, pictured above, though whether that's LEGO 2K Goooal! or something else entirely remains to be seen. We’ll hopefully find out more from official sources very soon.
LEGO 2K Goooal! is slated to debut on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
