The playable LEGO Game Boy Kickstarter is now underway, revealing how much it will cost fans to turn 72046 Game Boy into a working console.
The LEGO fans at Substance Labs have just launched the Kickstarter for their playable 72046 Game Boy conversion kit, and it's a costly but potentially worthwhile upgrade, and one that is more affordable to early adopters.
You've got until November 27 to join the crowdfunding over on Kickstarter, with multiple pledges of varying price points available, on top of the cost of
The essential kit includes a grayscale screen and requires two AAA batteries, and will do the job of making your LEGO Game Boy playable. A more affordable early bird version of this pledge has already sold out on the first day of crowdfunding. The gamer kit is €139 (or €129 for the still-available early bird special) with a colour screen.
There's also the €169 (€159 for early birds) collector's edition featuring an exposition mode, a display feature that keeps your set powered on for a continuous, illuminated demonstration on your shelf. All of these prices are on top of the £54.99 / $59.99 / €59.99 needed for the 421-piece set itself.
For the most dedicated of enthusiasts with little to no knowledge of modding, this campaign offers a good and accessible upgrade to the existing set. Rest assured, this campaign won't be underfunded, already reaching £146,466 of the £87,302 goal just hours after it started with over 1,000 backers.
With 29 days left to go in this campaign, make sure you don't forget to pick up a copy of the £54.99 / $59.99 / €59.99
