Get ready for LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 1 crowdfunding

Crowdfunding for Series 1 of the LEGO BrickLink Designer Program is right around the corner, so here’s a quick reminder of everything you need to know ahead of time.

Five different fan-designed LEGO sets are going up for pre-order on February 7 at 4pm GMT / 11am ET / 8am PT, and will be available in strictly limited quantities. Each of the five models that receives at least 3,000 pre-orders will enter production, with a maximum of 30,000 available to buy (and a limit of two of each set per household).

The five models span a range of price points, from £39.99 / $49.99 / €49.99 all the way up to £299.99 / $379.99 / €339.99, but most weigh in at the more expensive end of the scale. You can check them all out in the gallery and table below.

Successfully-crowdfunded sets will begin shipping roughly six months from now, but BrickLink notes that ‘actual dates and shipping times may vary’. This is the first in at least six different crowdfunding rounds for the revamped and relaunched BrickLink Designer Program, which originally ran as a pilot in 2021, with finalists for the second and third series already confirmed.

While these five sets haven’t been tested to the same degree as regular LEGO sets, they’re still official products (the LEGO Group owns BrickLink). And early reviews of all five models suggest that though there are certain techniques that don’t quite meet typical stability standards, they’re still a fine range of builds.

There’s no telling how quickly they’ll sell out, so you might want to make sure you know exactly what you’re buying beforehand – and be ready at your computer, tablet or phone when crowdfunding commences at 4pm GMT / 11am ET / 8am PT on February 7, 2024.
