Wondering whether or not to get down to your local LEGO Store on day one for the latest Collectible Minifigures series? Here are six reasons you should care about
Generally speaking, licensed LEGO Collectible Minifigures have a much narrower audience than in-house series, which can encompass a much broader variety of themes and interests. The Muppets and Looney Tunes series were probably mostly bought by fans of those specific shows, for instance – but 2024’s first licensed batch of minifigures is breaking the mould in more ways than one.
While
6 – It’s the cheapest way to get your hands on LEGO D&D
Whether you’re a seasoned tabletop gamer or are fresh off a playthrough of Baldur’s Gate 3 and just want to see what else is out there, you might have already clocked the LEGO Group’s initial adventure into Dungeons & Dragons territory. But you’ve probably then also noticed
Well, good news:
5 – They’re basically a stealth LEGO Castle series
71046 Series 26 Space brought us a dozen different sci-fi minifigures in May as part of the LEGO Group’s wider focus on space in 2024, and
You can strip away the fantasy elements or keep them in the mix to suit, but either way, this is basically a LEGO Castle series by stealth.
4 – D&D fans can finally build core minifigures without breaking the bank
Hardcore LEGO Dungeons & Dragons fans might have already attempted to build their own takes on the core races and classes using existing elements, and a surprisingly versatile portfolio of pieces has actually made that possible… even if it wasn’t always affordable. Luckily,
3 – They obey the ‘rule of cool’ at every opportunity
Maybe you’ve never played D&D and have no idea who any of these characters are. For once, it doesn’t really matter: each and every one of these minifigures understands and obeys the rule of cool, so chances are you’re going to find something to enjoy no matter which you get your hands on. Strahd von Zarovich is giving pure vampire vibes, Szass Tam is oozing underworld energy and the Lady of Pain… well, just look at her.
Even the generic classes here (Tiefling Sorcerer, Elf Bard and so on) have cool parts worth adding to your minifigure collection, whether you’re interested in D&D or not.
2 – They’re not going to be on shelves for long…

If you’re new to LEGO minifigure collecting, it’s worth knowing that the LEGO Group rotates its Collectible Minifigures series at a pretty rapid pace. We generally get three new series per year, in January, May and September, which means each one gets four months in production… and then it’s done. You might still be able to find leftover supplies of the previous series once the new one drops, but best not to roll the dice on that one.
1 – …but finding them will be easy

The good news is that you won't have any trouble finding the minifigures you want while they are available.
All you need to do is download Brick Search on iOS or Android, open the app, select the minifigure scanner and point your phone’s camera at the code on the bottom of the box. Brick Search will then tell you which minifigure you’re holding.
