Retiring LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Express sells out in select regions

The new LEGO Insiders sale includes one less discount currently as 76405 Hogwarts Express Collectors' Edition is selling out worldwide.

The sudden LEGO Insiders sale offering big discounts on equally large sets only to LEGO Insiders members is now live alongside other savings and gifts-with-purchase. Of the many reductions, 76405 Hogwarts Express Collectors' Edition has been reduced by nearly £100 / $100 / €100 before it retires worldwide. Usually, you'd be able to pick it up for £429.99 / $499.99 / €499.99.

Given this sale and the set's appeal to Harry Potter enthusiasts, it shouldn't be surprising to learn that it has already sold out, in some more places more permanently than others – potentially. The massive Hogwarts Express recreation includes a section of platform nine and three-quarters, exclusive minifigures based on the various stages of Harry Potter's story and a huge depiction of the red and black train as well as a carriage with more scene recreations.

It's listed as temporarily out of stock in the UK and the US, seemingly ensuring a restock eventually. Germany's online storefront states that it has sold out though, but these days that doesn't necessarily mean that it's gone for good. 75290 Mos Eisley Cantina has been listed with the same label in recent weeks before returning to the online store. Still, assume that the next time it comes back in stock will be the last should you wish to pick it up.

This should also serve as a reminder that the retirement date for LEGO sets is only the date by which the LEGO Group is aiming to clear all stock of the sets and they may sell out before or after those dates. The production of these builds is likely to finish before these dates as well to ensure that there is as little remaining stock as possible.

For now, 76405 Hogwarts Express Collectors' Edition is unavailable but hopefully, there will be a restock worldwide before the sale ends on October 20. Head here to check out the full rundown of retiring LEGO sets. Click here for a review of the huge LEGO Harry Potter set.
