Ahead of its release later this summer, a news update for Star Wars: The Acolyte has been confirmed for this week, showcasing a chilling poster.
Expect news on The Acolyte tomorrow as the Star Wars social media accounts are abuzz with a new teaser poster for the series. The Star Wars Instagram has confirmed that the news update coming tomorrow will be the series' first trailer.
The poster showcases a bloodier scene than most Star Wars media can as a lightsaber streaked with blood is visible and the background features the same substance, mimicking the blade of light that is usually emitted from the weapons.
It's a decidedly more gory poster than we usually see for Star Wars projects, immediately setting the tone for what is to come. June 4 has been announced as the release date for The Acolyte on Disney+ and a synopsis has been shared too.
The Acolyte focuses on an investigation into a crime spree that a Jedi Master (played by Lee Jung-jae) against a dangerous warrior from his past (portrayed by Amandla Stenberg). As more clues emerge, they travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal all is not what it seems.
The Acolyte takes place within the High Republic era and will feature at least one character from the books. You can start streaming it from June 4 and it seems likely that new episodes will start streaming weekly, though this has not been confirmed.
