When real kids try LEGO SMART Play...

LEGO SMART Play is here, but how does it hold up under the scrutiny of its actual target audience? We put the X-wing and TIE Fighter in the hands of kids to find out…

After a handful of delays, our review copies of 75421 Darth Vader’s TIE Fighter and 75423 Luke’s Red Five X-wing have finally arrived – and while they’ve already been pretty thoroughly dissected by adult fans everywhere, what we really wanted to find out was whether they’d be a hit with their intended target audience.

So, once Matthew had pieced together the two smaller LEGO Star Wars SMART Play starter sets (the rest of the wave may still be in transit), he promptly handed them over to his kids to play with. We could describe to you what happened next but that would do a bit of a disservice to not only the sets themselves but also the experience his kids had with them. Instead, you’re much better off watching it play out for yourself.
